Re-Normalised Sine Interpolation For Rapid Reslicing Of MRI Data
نویسنده
چکیده
Introduction It has long been established that the appropriate way of reslicing volume MR images is to use the method of sine interpolation [l, 31. We have have found, like other authors before us, that large convolution kernels are needed in order to produce accurate reslice data. However, we have found that the major component of the error introduced from interpolation with small kernels, is due to a first order normalisation problem introduced by truncation. We demonstrate the characteristics of this problem and show how it. can be eliminated, so that accurate reslice data can be obtained with small kernels. The required changes in computation are simple and significantly reduce the processing requirement for any given interpolation accuracy. Methods The decomposable sine interpolation algorithm from X, Y, 2 to Z, y, z co-ordinates with a cosine Hann (Hamming) window is defined as follows,

AMIDE: a free software tool for multimodality medical image analysis.
Amide's a Medical Image Data Examiner (AMIDE) has been developed as a user-friendly, open-source software tool for displaying and analyzing multimodality volumetric medical images. Central to the package's abilities to simultaneously display multiple data sets (e.g., PET, CT, MRI) and regions of interest is the on-demand data reslicing implemented within the program. Data sets can be freely shi...
متن کاملNon-planar Reslicing for Freehand 3D Ultrasound
Any-plane slicing is a visualisation technique common to many medical imaging modalities, including 3D ultrasound. The acquired data is resampled on a user-speciied plane and rendered, usually after some interpolation, on a standard graphics display. In this paper, we motivate and develop non-planar reslicing for freehand 3D ultrasound: the data is resampled not on a at plane, but a curved surf...
متن کاملReslicing axially sampled 3D shapes using elliptic Fourier descriptors
We propose a new method that interpolates between parallel slices from a 3D shape for the purposes of reslicing and putting into correspondence organ shapes acquired from volumetric medical imagery. By interpolating the coefficients of elliptic Fourier descriptors for a set of parallel contours, a new set of slices can be directly generated at desired axial locations. Neither an explicit corres...
متن کاملSpeech signal resampling by arbitrary rate
In this paper we discussed issues related to resampling speech signal at arbitrary frequency by using interpolation methods. The implementation of four resampling methods, 1. direct interpolation, 2. Lagrange interpolation, 3. sine interpolation and, 4. Taylor series method, is presented. These methods have been tested with some speech data and various resampling frequencies. The quality of the...
متن کاملCalibrationless Parallel Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Joint Sparsity Model
State-of-the-art parallel MRI techniques either explicitly or implicitly require certain parameters to be estimated, e.g., the sensitivity map for SENSE, SMASH and interpolation weights for GRAPPA, SPIRiT. Thus all these techniques are sensitive to the calibration (parameter estimation) stage. In this work, we have proposed a parallel MRI technique that does not require any calibration but yiel...
